Jackie Wszalek and I are both members and longtime supports of the National Association of Women Business Owners. We both attended several of NAWBO’s National Conference the Women’s Business Conference. We were excited when we received the following email.

Our 2016 annual Women’s Business Conference (WBC) will take place less than two months before the 2016 election. Therefore, it seems appropriate for the focus of the conference to be on public service and leadership

Because we know how creative and talented so many of you are, we want to hear from you! This year, we are asking all NAWBO members to think about what they would like the 2016 WBC theme and logo to be and then submit your ideas.”

Past themes have included:

At Splash Printing and Marketing we do a lot of graphic design, marketing and printing for major conference and events across the country. We jumped at the opportunity to be part of an event that is so close to our hearts!

Normally, when we pull together a logo or a marketing strategy for an event, we have a fairly in-depth interview with the client. This time we didn’t have that luxury. What we did have was an in-depth knowledge of women business owner events and knowledge about the vision of NAWBO that we had garnered through our leadership in the organization.

Here is what we knew we wanted to highlight in our graphic design:

  1. A look and feel that would stand out in an increasingly competitive field.
  2. That the strength of NAWBO as an organization comes from its 40 plus years of advocating for strong women business owners.
  3. That NAWBO members mean business. The unique value of this conference is the ability to connect with other women who want to grow and scale businesses.
  4. A graphic design that clearly supported the conference and the NAWBO brand overall. Here is what our designers came up with:

Frankly, I love them! We don’t know if we won, but we are very proud of the logo design work of our designers. Looking at these logo design samples we also felt that it illustrated the depth of graphic design skills on our team and the variety of options we can providefor our clients. Thank you to the very talented Caitlin Penny and Angela Payton for your skills and to the rest of the team that came together during several strategy sessions to provide feedback and ideas!
