Branding is a funny word. People usually think of colors, a logo or maybe some general words that define your business. As a print and graphic design firm, we couldn’t agree more and we also know that of your “brand” runs deeper.
A brand can include the general perception or feeling people associate with your business. This piece of your brand is developed through customer service, social media and everyday interactions. A skilled graphic designer will make sure that your graphic brand aligns these intangible elements.
We are the face of our business. Your “brand” is often an extension of you and your team. As a result businesses can struggle to define a brand and often opt for no brand at all.
The team here at Despins Printing and Graphics has had the opportunity to revisit our “brand” as we evolve. It hasn’t always been easy! How do you put 25 years or service, new innovative marketing practices and the very strong personalities of our team into a concise message?
Take for example: Jackie Wsalek.
As many of you know she loves hiking, yoga and helping business owners take their “idea” and turning it into a real tool to build sales. She is a community leader, she challenges people to think out of the box and she wants to grow Despins to provide more opportunities for her staff, her community and her family. Instead of trying to figure what “pieces” of that we will incorporate into our brand, she is our brand. Every piece of her. Instead of separating out the pieces of her, we have to work harder to communicate multiple times to ensure that we communicate all of those pieces.
We decided, instead of trying to define our brand, what if we agree on a few values and goals then went out and just did it. Just “Be the Brand”. The minute we stopped defining our message and just started consistently talking about what we value it became easier.
Of course you will see new branding in the form of a logo, colors, a tagline and a NEW NAME! But most importantly we are going to keep doing what we have always done. Care. Care about our clients and our clients. Our mission has always been to empower and move those we care about forward. In addition to our regular communication you will now see:
